15-year-old Houston sex trafficking survivor commits suicide

A Houston family is sharing their heartbreak after their teenage daughter ended her own life.

Family members say 15-year-old Letty Serrano commit suicide Saturday — saying she could no longer live with her pain.

Two years ago, she disappeared. She told her family she was drugged and sold into a sex trafficking ring. Days later they found her at a nearby park, but her family says she was never the same.

“She was taken by an older man. She was drugged. Her story is she was abused by different men,” said her godmother Cynthia Rivera.

Letty’s family now wants justice. They’re telling her story to spread awareness about sex trafficking in Texas.
