Non-Profit organization
Our mission is for women and children to live free from violence and abuse and to provide quality, compassionate, and nonjudgmental services in a manner that fosters self-respect and independence in persons experiencing domestic violence and child abuse and to lead the struggle to end domestic violence through advocacy and community education.
Women and children globally live at greater risk than men of domestic violence, sexual assault and harassment, and sex trafficking. We work for social change through educational programs, service collaboration and institutional advocacy and awareness. Knowledge is Power. We aim to equip children from a young age about domestic violence and child abuse by providing workshops and literature and awareness programs to schools about domestic violence and child abuse. Children who are witness to domestic violence have twice the rate of psychiatric disorder as children from non-violent homes. Some children grow up taking abuse into their adult life. Leadership at schools and universities is a must in order to bring change.
Teenage pregnancy has become a serious problem in South Africa. Through school workshops and literature, we are hopeful to overcome this. Using self-help, empowerment approach, we provide Counselling, Mediation, Legal assistance, Workshops, Team Building, Life Skills at schools and a 24-hour service for people affected by domestic violence and child abuse. Abuse is not always visible. Verbal, Emotional, Financial, Isolation, Blame, Threats, Intimidation, Blame Hope to Heal will strive to be a well-recognized foundation in the domestic violence and child abuse field; active in coalitions and advocacy groups in South Africa.
Through campaigning, advocating and support from various Sponsors, other Organisations and Government, domestic violence and child abuse can be reduced. We Need more Men Figures to stand up advocating against domestic violence and child abuse. Through this support, there will be drastic change. Men, by remaining silent through generations to generations of domestic violence and child abuse, this epidemic continues to grow by the second.
Men who grew up witnessing violence and abuse at home should stand together with us. Men don’t just abuse women and children; they are also responsible for the abuse of little boys and other men. Men must be able to address sexist issues with family, friends and colleagues immediately and this will be a start to make men aware of their behaviour is disrespectful and what they are doing is unacceptable. This will create a radical change in society. Adult men of power, needs to stand together with women in support to end violence and abuse against women and children.
Caring deeply is not enough; we need more men to stand with us globally in order to see change in society. Men owe this to their children, especially to their sons.
