A Randburg cancer survivor embarks on a mission of Hope to Heal

JOBURG -– A cancer survivor launches a foundation to help other victims of the disease and other social ills.

A Randburg-based cancer survivor believes she is a godsend Samaritan with a mission and message of hope to heal for all those afflicted by the scourge of the disease and other evils in society such as gender violence, drug addiction and human trafficking.

Seema Naidoo, a housewife and mother, spoke about her battle with cancer and the agony of loneliness she suffered when her husband of many years deserted her at a time when she needed him most.

“Though we’re now divorced, I do not harbour any ill feeling and I have moved on with my life. I am happy God gave me a signal to start the Hope to Heal Foundation that will seek to heal and empower all victims of the disease and other social ills in our communities,” Naidoo said.

She was speaking at the launch of the foundation, a non-profit organisation that will undertake community work with people of all walks of life, at the Pyramid Conference Centre and Hotel in Eloff Street Extension in the Johannesburg CBD on the night of 1 February.

“As part of my first project of the foundation, I have already undertaken and committed myself to renovate two children’s wards in two local Johannesburg hospitals and will soon be hosting a golf day in an effort to raise funds for this noble cause,” she said, urging her audience at the launch to come to the party.

“Partner with us for a good cause to help heal our land, heal our people and communities and empower the foundation to reach its potential and realise its dreams, my dreams and the godsend mission of hope.”

Alongside the foundation, Naidoo also launched a victims’ empowerment magazine that will endeavour to tell the stories of the cancer survivors, victims of abuse, those that have been trafficked, the former drug addicts and those living with albinism, HIV and the survivors of Aids as well.
