Domestic Violence During the Covid – 19 Lockdown

During this time, I believe so many homes need healing. A home can’t get healed if the people can’t be healed. You can’t be healed, if you don’t admit you have a problem and it is hard to admit you have a problem when your problem is your normal. Change your normal today. In order to do that you have to be honest with yourself.

Because….

For every woman & man who’s ever thought that I’m staying because I want to make it “OK” for my children, the damage to your children, emotionally and spiritually even though your children may never get hit, the damage to them doesn’t even begin to compare to whatever your emotional or physical damage is, because it cannot be undone.

For many, being home during the 21-day Lockdown is ‘not a safe place’ when trapped by their abusers 24/7 and less opportunity to escape.

I want you to know that you deserve a life of respect, dignity and to live free from violence and abuse. It is never too late to speak out.

To spark change, we must talk openly and acknowledge how domestic violence is affecting families and our communities.
