In light of the global shutdown enforced by world leaders, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, griping societies at large, vulnerable people are faced with various challenges. Our team has embarked on a grass roots mission, to stave off hunger in the hardest hit sectors of society.
We started the feeding programme in Belhar, Northern Cape due to lack of funds for food hampers. The feeding scheme started with 300 people a day and since mid-June the number has increased to over 500. Since April 2020, we have served over 40 000 meals to the vulnerable in Belhar.
This is however, not merely enough, to make the viable philanthropic impact to alleviate and flatten the curve, not only of this virus griping our nation to a standstill. We seek to flatten the curb that is the scourge of sheer lack, poverty, hunger, and desperate assistance. Demand, far out way resource right now and NGO’s such as ourselves are understandably taking strain, exhausting all avenues to ensure we get aid to those that require it the most.
We have reached out to Food Forward for support and they will only partner with us once an inspection of the kitchen and storage areas is done. We have dedicated an area for a kitchen for the feeding scheme but need your kind support to equip the kitchen. We are raising funds for the following items: Fridge, Chest freezer, another gas cooker, utensils, a stainless-steel table, and a stainless-steel sink.
We also require support to purchase 40 winter jackets, T-shirts for the Team in Belhar and JHB.
It is not hard to track the kind of support an organisation like Hope to Heal Foundation needs, to continue to do the work we do and give the support this community requires. We rely strongly on fund raising events but due to social distancing, to avoid the spread of the deadly COVID -19, we have taken the step to move the events to 2021. This is a great financial loss for us. We currently do not receive Government grants; therefore, we welcome you to partner with us during these uncertain times, we all find ourselves trying to navigate through. We welcome all support, that will allow us to continue the feeding scheme programme and to also meet our daily operating expenses.
Be the change, you wish to see in the world.
Thank you kindly
Yours in Hope
